I'm pretty certain I'm going with the access panel, just wondering if dropping the tank is that much more involved. Sounds like dropping the tank requires a lot of parts to be removed.
With the sheet metal stamped the way it is under the seat, it certainly lends itself to cutting a hole for an access panel. The designers most likely assumed it would be attempted so they gave everyone a helping hand. I just wish the access panel would have been OEM on the G8.
I recommend following the original install and use rivnuts instead of the current instruction to use sheet metal screws (G8 only).
Will you be going with Adam's billet hat? Better flow and no worries on the fragile plastic fitting cracking.
