Ok, I MOD'd my engine and added various other components.

What do I do with this engine cover? I hate to just put it on while looking so anemic.

Other than cleaning it up, do I repaint it the original colors? Do I crinkle paint it? Do I just leave it off?

Thoughts?

It's all personal preference. If you have nice valve covers, tidy wiring, clean coils/wire placement, the cover will hide all that effort. And most of all, with the cover in place it makes a nice comfy warm place for rodents to take up residence.

I only put it on if going somewhere that I may open the hood, if not its off, easy enough to on/off.

If I had my engine cover on, I would not have made the Holley page-

I admit, I am leaning towards painting it. Just need to decide on the color scheme. I think I saw a bunch of pics on Pinterest or something?? Maybe just a web search for G8 engine covers..

Coil covers do look good.. Since I am on the fence, I'll go take a look at those too.

Others have also added mesh inserts. The following is not my car or photo. Credit to Slither302.

Others have cut it into two pieces to show off the manifold.

I prefer the no engine cover look. Here is a photo of the Holley valve covers and fuel rails installed. Looks sharp. Credit to JCMG8.

I don't like them, never have. What's wrong with actually seeing the engine? But I have to admit some guys have done a really nice job with them.

Appearance aside, when we daily drove our GT I'd take it off in warm weather to help the engine cool off when shut down, and put it back on in cold weather to help it hold heat.

I have three choices. Stock cover. A painted one and the two 6.0 Gen IV coil covers.
