I know a superchips tune works best with just an intake/catback....but I was wondering if a superchips tune would support a catback exhaust with high flow cats...hope you guys can answer this..thanks!!

It will work, but it won't work ideally. The Cortex is a great bang for the buck and if I only had the two mods mentioned above it's hard to justify almost twice the Cost for a VMS or Livernois tune. I purchased the VMS tune just before getting the cats and I have ridden in some board members car with Livernois and New Era tunes. All of which are superior to the Superchips in just about every way, but again I don't think they were worth almost twice the cost. When you add more than intake and catback is where their added value is worth it's weight in gold. You will love the Solo cats by the way. Freakin amazing!

thanks virus, I appreciate it...i have one more question, I know the cortex is just plug and play, but as for the VMS/Livernois mail tunes, is a laptop required to program the tunes to the car or is there an extension like the cortex that just plugs and you do everything off the tuner

You will need a laptop for the VMS/Livernois tunes, they don't have a hand held tuner like the Superchips tuner.

This is only partially true, We have had numerous people tune their cars with their desktop computer and a 25' USB cord through their window :wink2: I know what you mean, but there are ways around needing a laptop. Also, while the overall package is more than a Cortex, it also has much more usability/flexibility as well offering you room to increase your modifications over time.

You could always put an old desktop in the garage just for tuning.

Yeah, we have had that be done too ;) even had one guy run an extension cord out in his driveway, lug his desktop out to the car, and tune it. The level of creativity always makes me proud :)

The Cortex is the easiest to use because of it's menu system and it's form factor. You need a Windows based computer of some type to use both VMS and Livernois.

Cortex does best with a CAI and exhaust....after that your looking for something more...Yes the Cats are amazing but Im missing something by not having a true tune.
SC is up for sale and time to discuss Liveronis, VMS or New Era

You'll see about 25 hp from the SC tune and about 10 hp more with a CAI. The catback might give you 5 hp since the stock exhaust isn't that restrictive.
