Can someone please share the exact procedure for tranny pan drop and refill for the 2008 GT?

I'm looking for the procedure with exact temperatures.

Words from the service manual >>>>> Have a suitable size pan (in position under the trans fluid pan) to catch any fluid that might/probably will spill while dropping the trans pan. After replacing the filter (if desired) along with checking out an cleaning the pan (if necessary), torque all the pan bolts to 80 inch pounds (or that general *that feels about right* technique) following a general pattern that goes back an forth (left side/right side) starting at the middle of the pan an a balanced progression going from aft to forward. It says to add approximately 6.7 qts of fluid. Run the engine till it gets a trans temp reading (from your engineering page) between 86 an 122 degrees F. Then (with it still running), remove the fill/fluid level plug on the pan. If no steady stream (more fluid is required). If stream is apparent, wait till it starts a drip pattern, then reinstall the plug. Hope this is what your asking for.

There is a complete factory procedure documented on the other forum. Just google G8 transmission fluid level check. You need to cycle the trans through the gears before setting the fluid level. Don't let it intimidate you, it's pretty easy on tall jack stands.

Yeah, the write up on the other board is great.

A few tips though:

1. Go around and just loosen bolts, don't take them out. You want to create a low spot at one of the corners, so you can more easily catch the fluid
2. Either just leave the old filter seal, or prepare for battle.
3. Don't forget to clean and replace the magnet in the bottom of the pan. If you're doing the Camaro pan, you need to reuse the one from your car.
4. Once you do the level check procedure, add another 0.5-1 quart of fluid.
