Looking here at the G8 community makes me very proud of our humble commodore.

Really looking forward to swapping information and stories on the VE SS/ G8

Here are some photos of my SSV sport wagon as I know our US cousins didn’t get these.

thanks for keeping Holden / Pontiac alive in the US

Man I still wish we had gotten the wagon over here. May still have my G8 if we did.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and we live on the eastern side of Australia near our nation’s capital of Canberra.

yes it’s shame they didn’t have the wagon and Ute variants in the US and the G8 Pontiac front was used on special order wagons and utes in Australia.

the dyno numbers were a surprise as I took out the original L76 6.0 block and bought a brand new LSA 6.2 long block without the supercharger.

I put in a blower spec cam with trunnion upgrade and bought a 2650 Harrop blower from Harrop Australia.

The 6L80 went to Graig’s Autos in Sydney a well respected auto specialist shop with drag racing communities in Sydney and around Australia. The 6L80 was strengthened with new clutch packs and input shafts with updated trans module and 3.2 stall converter

The differential was upgraded with a Harrop trutrac running HSV gearing of 3.27 ratio

These mods really made the wagon come to life and it’s not a light car by any stretch of the imagination. These wagons are built on the same Zeta platform as sedans but are a bit heavier over the rear axel which makes for good traction.
I haven’t had it down the 1/4 mile yet but I would be interested in the numbers in full street trim.

Of course can’t forget a fellow commonwealth country.

Aussies are Southern Hemisphere version of Canadians. Strange plastic money and strange habits.

been watching Rust Bros on Netflix’s a good series it’s a shame it’s only three seasons.

"Rust Bros it’s a shame "
there, fixed it for ya

Couldn't get Dee Snider and Ron Jeremy out of my head when I saw the show.

Would love to have a G8 wagon.
We only got the G8 here in 09 due to the Can bumper laws relaxed .
Less than 5000 if I recall
That same reason we did not get the Monaro -GTO

Yes my wagon is an OEM colour called poison Ivy. I added gun metal great wheel made by an Australian company called ROH who also made the HSV wheels. I also put a carbon fibre bonnet built to Australian standards from Queensland . Holden did a few different greens over years and a series of blues the last pick VE wagon is my brides car with a 6.0 litre and mild mods

Great looking wagons!
It’s a shame the US govt made GM close down the Pontiac brand and keep boring Buick! We might have been able to purchase the wagon or UTE here in the states.
