Hey,
So I just recently purchased Infinity Reference set, Components and Coaxs system. Last weekend I installed the rear with coax, easy-peasy job and now im starting on the front. Time is my problem this weekend, but I want these babies in. So if i just replace the speakers without installing the IR tweeters, would it blow out my stock tweets?

I researched Monaro's Setup:

He confirms the stocks have 3.3 capacitors built in so no need to place a crossover.

So yea, I just want to know if this a temporary solution until I have time to replace the tweets or am I running the risk of ruining the stock tweets.

thanks

Unless you are changing the amp then why are you worred about blowing the stock tweeters? You aren't pushing any more power to them than you were before.

I installed Kappa's all around in my Bonneville, while keeping the stock headunit and amp. The Kappa tweeters were much bigger than stock, and I was unable to use them. Been two years and haven't had a problem, so I would say you have nothing to worry about.
