So last night I installed the Vararam which was a pain to fit but anyways my question is I was too lazy to take off the old intake I just took off the airbox and pipe with the sensor. So will that be a problem leaving the old intake in there?

I left the filter in it and All I think it could do is help bring more cool air into the engine and keep the headers cooler? I don't know though any thoughts?

Also didn't want a big empty space there.

I took mine out. I don't think there would be anything wrong besides it possible getting loose and bouncing around

It won't hurt anything being there, but it will be of no benefit either.

I would take it out. If you happen to be showing your car off people might think you are  if you leave it in there after adding in another intake.

I left mine in for 2 months out of laziness, but removed it, and I am glad that I did as it looks better and that gave me the space I needed for my HID ballasts.
