Registered a few years ago but when I go to log in my username isn't recognized. So I register again and get the message, Your account has been activated but you are currently in the moderation queue to be added to the forum. for the last week now. Is this forum still operational?

Yeah. It's still active, but Facebook has taken away most of the activity from it.

Inactive forum members merely gravitate to Facebook then create pages, advertisements, groups, etc. Being a relatively private person, have never been a fan of Facebook and will remain active on the G8 board..oh joy.

That's so freaking disorganized. You have to follow each individual poster? How tedious. With dedicated internet forums you have distinct subforum categories that are easy to follow and post in. I can't see how Facebook is better.

No, it's not like that. There are lots of different private groups, and in this case, there is a private group for Capital City G8 Car Club. There are 300+ members on there, and you can post to the group just like you would a forum. The huge benefit is that Facebook did a much better job of building a user friendly phone app, and it's instant. The downside to facebook is that you don't have specific areas like "engine" or "transmission", and while the group is searchable, you don't have nice, long threads where info is stored.

CCG8 is very active on the facebook page. Same goes for classifieds. If you're looking for parts, you're missing 95% of the parts changing hands. There are a couple classifieds groups with more than 10,000 people, and many new items posted everyday.

So yes, forums still have their place, but the instant nature of Facebook has made it a go to for many people.

It's a closed group, so you have to wait for an approval to join. You should've had something popup about approval has been requested.

If you're really joining the darkside of Facebook, then you might as well look at "Pontiac g8 Classifieds" and/or "Pontiac G8 Classifieds" (yes, 2 different pages).

Well I got in and listed my G8. I don't see what people like so much about this format. It's like the internet from 20 years ago. One single message board for all topics.
