I bought g8 GT and it came with volant intake need to replace filter what are my options. I want to get a cone filter

Check with AFE Power. I liked their Pro-Guard 7 series since it was the maximum filtration. They're the Yellow ones.

You can "Build your own" with specific diameters. Whether or not the PG7 is available with the measurements you need, I don't know. If you want more filtration, you can always put a sock over it for large debris if you're concerned.

I used and Amsoil EAAU6065. Works fine, a dry filter that I've vacuumed clean once.

The Volant closed box air intake for the G8 has a part number of 415960 with a 61513 PowerCore filter which measures

Filter Flange Inside Diameter: 6" Filter Top Outside Diameter: 6" Filter Base Outside Diameter: 6" Filter Height: 7"

Are you looking for an oiled filter like a K&N or Spectre? Or non-oiled such Amsoil or aFe? Either way, a universal filter should be fairly easy to locate.

Honestly, don't have a recommendation one way or the other. Bear in mind, if you do decide to go the oiled filter route a cleaning or filter recharge kit must be purchased as well. The washable or vacuum-n-go filters are much easier to maintain and remove the additional step(s) of re-oiling the filter media and/or waiting for the filter to dry. Also, keep the original Volant filter as a backup just in case the unforeseeable happens. Personally, have never had an issue re-oiling an air filter, but can see how one might become over zealous with the process.

I have a drop in k & N in my SS and never had a problem with washing and oiling it

I have the Volant CAI as well... My engine builder said the Donaldson PowerCore filter was robbing like 20 or 30 HP on the Dyno, so I found this filter and I'm happy with it.
