has anyone tested the 3 different magnaflow cat back exhausts for the 6.0? any dyno numbers or complaints on exhaust tone? trying to decide between the 2.5 or 3inch exhaust and can get a really good deal on magnaflow. car already has slp headers on it.

I honestly doubt anyone has had all 3 versions of the same exhaust on their G8 here... not trying to be callus, just stating the truth.
Exhaust sound is very objective to each set of ears hearing it so what might be perfect in sound to one person may not be for the next.

Since your car already has the SLP headers you have the nice option to go with either the 2.5 or 3. Since those headers exit into a stock cat-back flange size I would say 2.5 would be just fine for your needs, depending on what those needs are with your car...You're probably not going to experience much difference in the way of actual power between either by feel or dyno numbers between the two.

True doesnt hurt to ask though. the 3inch should in theory produce better HP numbers but im worried about exhaust drone and overall loudness but i also dont wanna spend 700 bucks and know that for litterally a few dollars more i could of got the better exhaust. kinda stuck on magnaflow though just because of the deal i can get. I see theres 2 different versions of the 2.5inch do you know right off hand the difference in sound between the 2? magnaflow part numbers #16795 and #16887.

I may be wrong, but all you need is 2.5 unless you're going over 450 hp to the wheels. So if you're going over 450 eventually, get 3 inch.
