I have an ARH system on my car (long tubes, catted x-pipe) and am trying to get the exhaust 'right.'

I have stock AB mufflers (too quiet, but no drone), Magnaflow AB (sound is OK, drone at cruise), and Solo AB (holy freaking crap loud at WOT, but mellows nicely at cruise).

Has anyone tried fitting a resonator or bullet muffler to the Solos while retaining the j-pipe? I want it a little quieter and less raspy, but retain that mellow, drone-free cruise. I'm thinking SLP Loudmouth II bullet mufflers.

I really don't want to cut the ARH stainless pipes, so I am stuck trying to come up with an AB system that does it all.

Someone mentioned they had done Dynomax muffs with a j-pipe. Are there any pics of that setup? I haven't found any.

I guess I could fab up something custom if someone in the DFW area wanted to buy the setups I have, but I only have a MIG welder and stainless is something I am not familiar with.

Just a thought...

Remove the catted X-Pipe and sell, sell the Magnaflow ABs. Mate the LTs to straight piping which is connected to the Magnaflow Tru-X mid muffler, then resonators to Solo ABs?

It might end up being too expensive though in the end? If not, I know there are several members with similar set ups who aren't complaining about waking the dead.

Hooker Maxflows if you can still find them for cheap. No drone and very nice growl under acceleration.

I remember reading something about them being out of stock somewhere? Was it just the polished stainless set? Summit Racing appears to have no shortage, but all I see is black and a raw steel looking set up.

Order two of these...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hok-21614-2hkr

Find some tips...sell the Solo's and Magnaflows...and leave your ARH system in tact and untouched.

Thank us later.

P.S. These are center inlet center outlet in 2.5" polished stainless steel...FOR $59! Order now because they are on clearance and once they are gone, they are gone. Hooker is not making any more of them. You will only be able to get the aluminized steel ones once these are gone (and they cost more).

The offset inlet/center outlet version is already sold out.

You could always add J-pipes to your Magnaflows. That should help reduce or eliminate the drone. Then you could sell you Solo ab. They usually very quickly.
