Im not a total idiot on the subject but when it gets to tire size and off sets I dont really know whats going on. Im looking at getting Velocity motoring v710s, on the website it says 19x8.5 ET35 for the front and 19x10 ET38 for the rear, I get that 19 is the wheel size and 8.5 is how wide it is but, whats "ET35 ET38" and since the wheel is 8.5 inches wide will the tire be 8.5 inches wide also? or would it be wider? Tire size is also a question mark for me I see 285, 275 stuff like that getting thrown around but dont get what it means, can some one shine some light on this for me?

ET is the offset. Our cars come from the factory with an offset of 48 both front and rear.
Check the sticky thread "Offset ranges-will fit.....?" in the Wheels and Tires section of the forum.
You'll find everything you need to know.

Offset is the distance from the mounting point of the wheel to the hub, to the center of the wheel itself.

A better fit for the V710 in 19" is:

19x8.5 +35
19x9.5 +45 (if you want to run a 275 tire)
or
19x9.5 +50 (if you want to run a 285 tire)

19x10 +38 will work, but you'll have to roll for sure and probably end up running an undersized tire for a 10" wide wheel.

Rawyzf said it perfectly. The most common fitment from VMR in the V710 is the 19x8.5 et.35 fronts and 19x9.5 et.45 rears. This will allow comfortable fitment of the 245/40R19 and 275/35R19. This fitment with most tires will not require a fender roll either. Let me know if you need any help with these wheels, I would be glad to assist! Good luck with your search!
