So I picked up an 09 G8 GT about a month ago. Got it at a great price. But it definitely has seen better days. The interior is filthy and the body is definitely getting a new paint job. Everyone is saying the cam has been upgraded. I honestly don't have a clue what all has been done. But I do know the exhaust is just waaaaaay too loud. It has a set of headers on it. Then the cats were cut and it looks like someone put the solo exhaust on it. I want to tone it down. Any suggestions on what I should do with the exhaust. Without dropping $2-3k in it. Thanks

I was looking at some aftermarket cat backs. Well in my case Headers back. Would it still be real loud without the cats?
Cats will reduce the level some. As MGMGXP shared, the answer is stock mufflers.
I have 2" headers into 3" midpipes. The stock muffs make it 6am neighbor friendly.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'm definitely not going to be that guy and start it up like it is at 6am. Lol. So mufflers it is. Appreciate the input.

Good lord that paint really needs to be redone. Pains me to see it as I also have a sport red metallic G8 GT. Headers and no cats will always be very loud. Have you thought about adding cats?

Presume the puddle around the 15 second mark is from the G8. Good deal fixing and putting it back on the raod.

Yeah. Either cats or mufflers. The body has definitely seen better days. It had a bunch of triangles wrapped around the back half of the car. Had too take them off. Didn't like to the look someone was going for. Hopefully, as long as everything goes ok. The body will look new again in a couple weeks

Work in progress.
Throwing all kinds of codes from the O2 sensors. So hopefully I can get the exhaust worked out and fix the problem. Nothing worse than ck engine light staying on. Had already bought the Spectre CAI Or I probably would have with Vararem

Ditch the spectra. LSA CAI is the ticket. Then cats will not be part of your concerns.

Welcome and congrats! Has the AFM/DOD been removed/deactivated? If it's active you may find you don't like the changeover drone when you add a loud exhaust. Good luck with the mods! And where are you located? You can probably find some local folks to help you out. We're a big family!

Cincinnati, OH. AFM has been disabled. Now as far as DOD. Not sure. I would assume if they put a cam in. They did. Any easy way to tell?
