Oil, pressure update

OK so I know I’ve made a bunch of posts about the boat oil pressure in my new to me 200,000 mile Pontiac G8 GT. The engines bone stock and it had a ticking noise every now and then and low oil pressure fast forward a few months later after a high volume high pressure oil pump install the checking has not come back. Today I finally registered the car and took it for an hour. Drive and a little bit of a beating. After all said and done pulling over to the side of the road with my scan tool oil pressure is 28 psi that’s the lowest I’ve seen it go yeah as soon as I barely touch the throttle, it jumps to about 35 to 40. Also the car only idles at about 580 RPM which to me would seem very low. What’s your input?

My car is totally stock and idles at about 565 to 580 after engine up to temp. Your number sounds pretty normal to me.

Everyone told me it needed an engine because of the tick that it had every now and then. But I noticed that when it tipped is when it had low to know oil pressure like five psi. Now today the weather is only about 47°, but I did just get done beating the snot out of it on the highway for a good ride and the oil pressure is still sitting at 28 to 30 bouncing back-and-forth.
Everyone? May want to go back through your threads.

If your idle is low, how are you going to change it?

Well, maybe not everyone but the majority of people told me the engine was toast and I was only putting a Band-Aid on it by putting oil pump in. And I was just saying that the idle is low on the car. There is no way to change that
I recall majority of suggestions on changing parts to keep reliability which you chose not to do. It works for your $1200 car, it's all good.

Idle is easily changed with hptuners or efi live.

I did not realize you could change the title with a tuner. And as far as oil pressure is concerned, I am seeing everyone is running about 25 to 30 psi at hot idle.

Nor did I.
Please note - I'm not stock.

But easy to change .

Hell, I lowered my hot in gear idle to 525 rpm. Sounds better and doesn’t push as much at a stop light.
