About FU**ING time, but I just wonder what they will come up with next. The government won't give up one cash cow without something else on the sideline. I'm sure the garages that bought all the expensive equipment to do the testing are impressed with all the money they will be out of pocket too!

Gotta love Doug Ford. We can now all go catless in the future haha. Too late for myself, not a big deal. Apparently the program will still apply to those vehicle who pollute the most however (tractor trailers and heavy equipment).

Just don't drive the car for 3 days, or drive without a validated sticker. Nobody will give you a ticket for 3 days.

Then the program is over and you won't be screwed ;)

Well, with typical government planning if you have an even year car you have to get it Drive Clean certified on the odd year and vice-versa. Like, it wouldn't make sense to do even year cars on even years and odd year cars on odd years for f**ks sake! The part I think is ironic is it's being cancelled on April fools day, so is this a big joke being perpetrated by the government. If so, I for one won't find it amusing!

No longer testing, but if a cop pulls you over for a "noise violation". If he checks. Its still not legal to remove the cats and they can write a ticket. Its just not part of getting your licence renewed.

That charge only applies for the removal of the muffler section of the exhaust. You could get a noise violation for loud exhaust but that charge is really hard to prove, especially if you drive a V8. Most police officers wouldn't bother, unless you had an obnoxious fart can.

Proving an exhaust does not have a cat converter is also tricky and would require professional testimony from a mechanic.

That said, I encourage people to have a functioning one on their car. As much as I love a good tone, I also care about the environment.
