Hello Guys,

Newbie here with the dreaded P0008 and P0019.

After a lot of reading I know the P0008 is the timing chains. I have bought all of the chains, sprockets, tensioner and guides. Along with a new water pump and two CPS. As well as gaskets.

What I don't understand is in some readings they say to rotate the motor 115 degrees when installing the last chain. If that is so, how far is 115 degrees?

Any help would be appreciated,

Well 180 degrees is half a turn so. At little more than a quarter turn. Not sure if this helps at all.

Can someone recommend what to use to seal the timing cover to the block ??

Hey Dave, welcome to the board first off.
With the timing chain kit did you get a gasket? If not you can use a thin coat of RTV silicone.

They say to not use rtv on these cars there is a proper sealant that you can get from gm That I have been told that should be used for these motors. I would look into it. I was told this by the person who just did my chains and everything you are doing and he does allot of these chains so I trust him.
