What, specifically, should I look to tighten down on my LTs if I suspect a small leak? Lately, if I get on it, I notice the exhaust note is different and sounds like there may be a small leak somewhere. What should I look for first?

Its probably coming from the connection pipes and the band clamps holding them on. Many people with the pacesetters have gotten leaks over there and then have the connection pipes welded on.

Use some hi temp rtv silicone on the connections and tighten the clamps
