Hi all I just purchased my first G8,

Had a couple quick questions about the HVAC,

The little vents in the rear of the center console - how do you turn them on, mine don't seem to have any airflow coming from them, is there a switch I have to turn on??

Also I noticed on the rear window - there is the normal rear defogger lines, but I also noticed there appears to be a vent right at the bottom of the window as well - is there supposed to be air coming from those vents as well?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Should work when it is in all modes, foot well, dash and combination of both.
It does take a little time to make its way through to the back only like 20-30 seconds though. As long as the roller switch is rotated the right way should be good. Now, if the last person had any work done and they removed the center console to do it it can be a bit of a job to connect up the vent pipework and if not done right can prevent the air getting through. That vent up the back is just a breather to let air in, not conected to any tubing or anything. I am going to have a look in my commodore manual for HVAC trouble shooting and if I find something I will post it for you. Good luck mate.

HVAC has to be turned so that air is blowing from the dash vents and so long as the close off wheel is open then air should blow out of them. The rear close off wheel is located directly between the 2 air vents on the center console, if memory serves correct open would be UP and closed would be DOWN.

The vents near the rear window are just to allow cabin pressure to escape when the doors are closed, the car has a vent to the outside behind the drivers side rear bumper.
