I received a Christmas package from Santa's Polish workshop this past winter and got the boot installed.

I had the boot made 3 inches shorter and got the racing stripe option to better match the style I have on my console lid cover I got a few years back..

wow!!! that looks great.. does it work??
I have been very happy with it..
looks great :D
Looks great! Looks like you have the boot around the silver plastic trim ring? If so, how'd you get that to work?
I just pulled the stock boot out of the stock trim ring and pressed the new redline boot into the perimeter of the trim ring.. I used one of the plastic trim pry tools to push the leather in.
Got it, should have caught earlier you have a M6 GXP. In wish this would work on the auto but I don't think the trim ring would stay in place.
Decided to get the MGW shifter. Now I'm trying to decide on the ball.
When I made the swap to this one I was surprised at how heavy the stock shift knob was. My guess it was to help with shift feel, all that inertia on top and in your hand. But I love my MGW and its cue ball knob.

I was thinking of using the stock as I have a red/black one and the same seats...thoughts?

Install on an auto is really easy.

If I hadn't purchased the classic shaft and knob, I would have been very tempted to keep the stock knob for the stealth factor.
There is something about the "sleeper" look that is appealing.

Also after feeling how nice that weighted stock knob felt in my hand, I was hard to pack it away.. But I do like that classic shaft and knob feel too...:grin2:
