A few months ago I purchased a 2009 G8 GT, I plan to do some mild performance modifications, but mostly I want this car to look good.

Ive been looking at rims for a about 4 months, and finally settled on a set, it was love at first sight. I'm open to exploring other options, but it's going to be tough to change my mind.

Gary H posted pictures of his new set up a few weeks ago, and thats what really did it for me.

He states they are 20x8 up front an 20X10 in the back, I'd be ok with 20X8 all the way around, but as you can see, the rears have a totally different look.

The ONLY way I can find these rims is at a 35mm offset, from my research, I hear this wont work, but he obviously did, AND he is lowered.

I am pretty educated on tire sizing and how they fit rims, but offset has always confused me. I hear that 45 or 50 mm will fit, but I don't know where the issue lies, is that a 35mm will have the tire sitting further out, or further in?

If its sits too wide, then fender rolling and a narrower tire should help/fix. if it sits too narrow and rubs on the inside, then a spacer should help. I have two 6.5mm spacers that I used on my SS and had zero issues.

I've contemplated lowering, depends on how it looks with the 20s, if I did, Id either do the Eibachs since the drop is minimal, or the coilovers so I can control it.

I very rarely have anyone in the back set, and never carry more weight than groceries...my car is borderline garage queen.

Here are the rims in question.

BTW, my car is SRM, I think with blacked out chrome, and these rims...it would be beyond sexy, I'd also do what Gary H did and fore go the center caps and paint the chrome studs.

According to google images, this guy has done it, it sourced the picture to these boards, is Rican 219 a member? It also showed some commodores with this set up.

its pictures like that, that confuse me, but I think I have it figured out now, the issue with a low offset, is that the rim sticks out too far, and rubs the fender. A spacer would only make it worse.

I found some other pictures of these rims, it looks like the hub is really thick, I wonder how difficult it would be to get a few mm milled off the inside. pull that offset back to a 40 or 42.

I found the thread that the picture came from in my second post, he's running a 275 on the rear, rolled, lowered on Eibachs, without much trouble.
