For you select few V6ers who have taken your car to the track did any of you guys try to manual shift? dont know why I never thought to try but I didnt. Just left it in sport mode every time.

I noticed that if you manual shift you can get an extra 200 RPMs without hitting the limitter. So instead of it starting to shift @ 6300 and max out at 6500 in auto sport mode I am able to hit the upshift at 64-6500 and it gets up to 6700 without hitting the rev limiter. Just something to think about for the next time you take it to the track... If I ever get back I will give it a whirl.

Knock on wood. This very same concept crossed my mind a few days ago, but I never got around to starting a thread on the forum. I normally use "standard" mode in order to achieve optimal gas mileage per the manual.

I wasn't aware that we had AFM on the LY7? Every resource I've looked at says we run on all six cylinders all the time?
+1. Unless, he's privy to some classified information of some sort...:dunno:.

Ly7 does not have dod, that is exclusive to the g8 gt with the l76 engine.

But, yes, when you shift over to m5 mode on the v6, there is no dod. ;)

The v6 does not rev-match the shifts like the v8 cars do, and thats a shame.
