I have a 2008 G8 GT which I love. I'm wondering if it's time to move to the SS. Of course the big issue is the price. At close to $50K the SS is quite pricey.

Does Chevy ever offer the SS with 0% APR financing? Is it work getting a new SS or wait a few years for the prices to drop and get a slightly used?

Great car.....

Magnetic ride and the interior is the biggest upgrade over the g8.

They will feel similar SS is just the evolution of the g8.

I was actually quite surprised they weigh a hair less than the g8's.

Chevy has done 0% quite a bit and has also included them in there 20% off sale so you can get them for 10k off.

There no longer making them and inventory is dwindling fast. Manuals are very hard to find and dealers are starting to refuse dealer trades or deal.

If you're considering one I would be ready to jump fast if they do a big memorial sale and include them....after that or maybe July 4th I think the deals are gone and inventory is lack luster.

Are they still offering 20% with 0% APR? Where can I find that?

They never offered 0% with the 20% off deal.

Typically either or. Honestly with rates so cheap 0% doesn't do that much.

They haven't done the 20% off deal for a couple months. Keep your eyes open might pop up. Car sales are down and there are some holidays approaching.

If they sell at 20% off. E ready to pounce and don't get to picky on colors or options. Find one you like and buy it.

At 40k I think there a deal. At 45k plus I would want the newer lt1 engine. Was always bummed they stuck with the ls3 when everything else progressed.

Check bracketracer's 1016 SS or 2017 SS posts, he updates availability and cars with incentives weekly.
There not available up here but still interesting reading for me anyway.

I would recommend finding a used one that you could test drive for more than a quick trip. I have been driving a G8 GT for several years and love it, so I purchased the SS and now have both. I have about 3800 miles on the SS and it is a great car, but I still feel more at home in the G8. Given time this may change. What I can say for sure if the SS is more luxury when compared to the G8. The G8 feels more raw, and performance wise feels less boring. I am not saying the G8 will outperform the SS, but the SS is built so well that the sensation of performance is not as great as in the G8. The SS has some really nice features that give it that luxury feel and creates an excellent comfort and performance package. Both cars a very similar setups, but at the same time very different to drive. I could point out a multitude of differences that all contribute to the total experience being world's apart but that would be a cazzy long post. It is just something that you will have to experience and decided for yourself. Just my thoughts at the moment...

Just ignore Louie's 20% off thread. It's not for anything you want >:)

You can always keep track on my threads on this board too. I work for a Chevrolet dealership, and have been working hard to help people on here not only with G8 questions, but also with SS questions. I work for Bergstrom Chevrolet of Middleton and we are an Approved Dealer on this Board. When the 20% sale came up awhile back, we didn't have any inventory until the very end (we barely managed to get our Slipstream Blue manual for a guest in time to take advantage of it). We currently have 2 manual transmission 2017 SS's in stock, Orange Blast & Nightfall Gray. I'm not sure where you are out of, but I would be happy to help you if I can.

As someone else mentioned above, if GM somehow decides to do some type of % off MSRP sale again (I doubt that it will be as much as 20% again until late in the year with winter approaching), you need to have done all your homework in advance & be ready to act. Our dealership has taken a bunch of calls from people interested in our SS's. A number of our salespeople have started lists of people to contact in the event that happens. They are calling people in the order that they contacted us. If you want to get on my list, drop me a PM with your contact info. If a 20% off sale happened again, our 2 cars would probably be gone within the first couple hours. If you are wanting a manual transmission car, or a certain less common color, I wouldn't be too patient. These cars won't last long. If you don't care about color or transmission or sunroof or spare you can be more patient and see what is left.

Along with @bracketracer on here, there's another guy named Myron that works for Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. I just checked and they have 23 SS's in their inventory currently. I know that during the 20% off sale a lot of people were flying in to his dealership because of the selection he had of manual transmission cars. If you're really interested you might want to hit him up or at least look at their website to see what they have in inventory.
