Look in the mirror. You launched the first insult. I'm done wasting my time with you.
Screw off. Enjoy the Ford. Might as well leave the site if you are going to be a Ford nutjockey like this. Go post some dumb crap like that on the SVT forum where the rest of the jokers post.

It's nuts how a number of you guys who buy these cars just put GM down left and right the minute you leave the brand.

OK, well... hopefully we will all come back to this thread when & IF the 2013 GT500 posts real numbers and not speculation....

I can understand being passionate about a car, but you had every inference, that the GT500's of the past where as good and/or better the the ZL1, that IS NOT the case, not even their braking nor HP numbers, only in weight..... then you bring up that the new 2013' numbers are better..... we'll see...

as far as, the "stirring the pot", "you insulted me first", come on, what are we.... 10 again:whine:

Isn't better to let the car do all the trash talking when and if it can?:driving:

When and if we get the numbers we'll know who fares better. Not to get involved but the ''One Trick Pony" gets old very damn fast and a huge fat AWD sedan that has crappy interior room doesn't cut it either, it's ruined a lot of fun cars that Americans could have enjoyed like the Falcon, for my generation the real Focus and Fiesta. I love my F350 because it's rare and has a lot of pulling power but understand I've turned my back on Ford because it's all about the Mustang and it's old very old. Not everybody wants one.

Nobody said truth was pleasant. Look at the other performance Fords world wide that was never brought here, the Focus RS, the Euro Focus ST, the Fiesta ST and RS, the Escort Cosworth, the Sierra Cosworth, the Falcon Line dating back to the 70's. What were we stuck with? The Mustang.

it sounds like you where/are a big Ford fan, so I'll ask you this....
I know the car (mustang) sold great and did a great job for a long time, but what was the reason they didn't bring those cars here? Any idea?

Ford holds the same Mentality that Bob Lutz broke GM from. Simply put anything else that was performance would take away Mustang sales. When Lutz went to GM he talked about how they were going to make one hell of a supercharged Escalade from Cadillac that would be able to haul as much rear as the Vette. But it was voted down because if GM owners want performance they could simply buy a Vette. Hence the Supercharged Escalade never got built. Thanks to Lutz that mentality was shattered after he heard that said right to his face and got us the G8, brought back the Camaro and gave us the CTS-V. I'll tell you how little desire Ford NA execs had for the product offered here, they would all drive Mondeos, Focus RS, ST and Falcons. They proudly paraded them around Dearborn all the time, parking them out on the streets for everybody to see. Of course their excuse was nobody would buy these products at all nobody would walk in and drop 35K for a Focus RS 25K for a Fiesta ST. Yet Subaru sells STi's and the Golf GTI's are pretty hot sellers for those who want some hot hatch performance. The Civic's have always been top sellers so there is a hot market. I would have gladly paid 40K for a Focus RS I would have gladly paid 40K for a Falcon XR8. Nope that takes away Mustang sales... Oops I mean I don't want to buy those.

You have to understand, the quality build and the parts from Ford of Europe are 1000 times better than Ford of North America. The Focus RS MK II had almost 300 HP and a unique front suspension that features "Revo Knuckles" designed to help against Torque Steer and keep the car tighter on the road brought over from the RS MK I. The Focus also has Control Blade IRS which I love to death, I modified the Control Blade on mine and trust me you'd flip the body before you'd flip the wheels off the road. The Falcon BA on up featured Control Blade IRS as well through RWD. The Focus RS is one very hot hatch that left Civic's, and GTI's standing at the track side crying. Also not to mention, a fully loaded STi is over 40K and a fully loaded CRZ is 38K so the price would be competitive.

Sounds like a kick ass car. But Ford brass was right not to bring it over here cause it would of been a disaster here.

Why? People are dishing out same prices for STi's, CRZ's and GTi's and now the real R Series is going to be coming, hell Canada can get the Scirocco. It wouldn't have been a disaster at all the RS is produced in limited numbers all you have to do is bring over 100 and that would have been it.

You think Ford actually cares about selling 100 cars?! Not to mention all the emissions certifications and crash testing it would take to bring over 100 cars.

Less than a million to ceritify and sell the Focus RS. On our shores, the Focus MK II was slated to be sold in the US in 2008, instead they spent 10 Billion On making the abomination that lasted from 2008-2011 when it would have cost less than a fraction to ceritfy the MK II. It really doesnt cost that much to certify when a car is designed to come to our shores in the first place, Ford NA won't let anything get in the way of their precious Mustang. Don't panic at all, the ST slated for sale will not be coming because simply put; Ford will make up an excuse that is silly like what they did for the Focus Wagon, the New International Ranger and the Grand C-Max Van. The Focus will be the little car that could have done much better than what Ford NA let be. The ZL1 Camaro will only face the Mustang head to head and kick its arse.

I think GM, Ford, & Chrysler should look at what sells here as imports.

I Love the WRX and Lancers, Evo's, etc..... Great little performance cars, some of which are all wheel drive....

Granted, if they have to start from scratch on the design phase, it would not be very cost effective or smart for any of them. But if they do have cars that compete in those markets already that they sell around the world, then they should bring them here.... but then again, all th emissions and saftey BS that the states require, might be why they don't...

Well supposedly we are slated for the ST MK III from Ford price should be anywhere in the 25 to 30K range. Rumors are flying a possible Fiesta ST as well though all testing I've seen so far is the Euro which there are something like 3 versions of an ST out there already leaving us to sit in the dust, watch hipster commercials about fuel economy and microsoft be a big a thing from Ford.
