For those of you not tracking my posts about the quantity of remaining New SS's in the country, I wanted to post this milestone. There are currently only 95 of these cars remaining to be purchased new. There are currently 44 2015s & 51 2016s. All but 1 of those cars has the automatic transmission, so if you wanted a new SS with manual transmission, you better buy a 2017 once they arrive. The following colors are all sold out (new anyway), Jungle Green & Alchemy Purple. Since these colors aren't available in 2017, you are out of luck if you wanted new. You will either need to search for used or change colors. Regal Peacock only has 2 new 2016's remaining (although it will be available again in 2017). Mystic Green only has 1 new 2015 remaining (it has been discontinued). There are also only 2 new 2015's in Perfect Blue (2015 color only), and only 5 Silver Ice (3 new 2015's & 2 new 2016's). Other colors have a few more options, but not many. This should be reduced to only a handful of cars by the end of the month. Once the 2017s begin to arrive on our shores (probably still about 6 weeks or more away), I wouldn't be counting on the awesome discounts that have been available over the past 3 years. The demand, and fact that 2017 will be the final production year, will likely keep prices up closer to MSRP.

As of today, there are actually less 2016 new SS's available to buy nationwide than 2015 new SS's. There are 87 total, with 43 of those being 2016s & 44 of those being 2015s. A few Bonus Tag reloads popped up, so there are 23 2016s that have the 20% Bonus Tag on them. Now that the total number of SS's has dropped this low, I wonder if the Bonus Tags on them will continue into January. I guess we'll have to wait to see.

I checked the GM system and none of these cars are checked in to dealer inventory at this point. As mentioned on the SS Forum, there is no way of knowing where these are going without a VIN, or talking with the transport driver. The speculation that these could be press or show vehicles has some merit. The Detroit Auto Show is coming up & they would likely have some of them for that. I guess once they start appearing, I will have to start up tracking of the 2017 models too.

It would surprise me to be seeing 2017s on the lot this soon, when the 2016s didn't start showing up until mid-February for the last model year.

I agree. There was some speculation on the SS forums that they could be headed for Detroit for corporate type promos but that also would be odd...what are they promoting...car is in its last year and they have done little to no marketing thus far so why start now. Maybe they are getting out sooner because the plant may not produce them through April like prior years, maybe production will stop in February...anyone's guess I suppose.

I can only be certain of production thru end of January, because we have an Accepted Order with a Targeted Production Week then. I am doubtful of ending production early, but who knows. Even though production is likely scheduled thru April, ordering will likely by cut off sometime in the next 4-8 weeks. This should encourage potential buyers to act and not drag their feet too long. It's not like you can get a 2018 model if you miss out.

There are now only 76 total available New anymore, 34 2016s & 42 2015s. The last Silver Ice 2016 was just sold, so now there are only 2 new 2015s available in that color. Slipstream Blue should be the next to go, only 1 2016 left out there.

It's on the Chevy website. All the same but deleted Mystic Green, jungle green, and some like it hot red, and added nightfall gray and orange blast.

There are now only 73 total available New anymore, 33 2016s & 40 2015s. The last Silver Ice 2016 was just sold the other day, and now there is only 1 new 2015s available in that color (at the dealership I work at ironically!). Slipstream Blue should be the next to go, only 1 2016 left out there & it is a Bonus Tag car. There is also only 1 2015 Mystic Green left out there & all the 2016 Mystic Green cars are sold.

And then there were 69. Only 30 2016s left & only 39 2015s left to purchase new in the country. As I predicted, the last Slipstream Blue car sold in the last few days. That means no more Jungle Green or Slipstream Blue at all. Only 2 2015 Regal Peacocks, only 1 2015 Silver Ice (at the dealership I work at), only 2 2015 Perfect Blue, and only 1 2015 Mystic Green (there are no more 2016 Mystic Green, Silver Ice, Slipstream Blue or Jungle Green). I predict this total will be below 50 by end of the month/year.

Now there are only 66! There are 38 2015s & 28 2016s new left in the country. Still a few days left to see if my prediction of less than 50 by close of business on Saturday.

The total now is under 60, but there is no way for me to verify exactly how many. I can no longer search for new 2015 model cars now that it is 2017. Suffice it to say, there aren't many, and I bet nearly all will be gone before the 2017 models hit dealership lots in 4-6 weeks or more.
