I was in the process of doing a quad Morimoto D2S 4.0 retrofit, but after cutting up the low beam portion of the frame I realized it just won't fit right due to the width of the 4.0. I found someone that can make us custom brackets that would make the low beam section a straight bolt on with no cutting and keep the high beam reflector bowl for those that want to just do a low beam section retrofit. These will snap right into the headlight housing using the factory mounts inside. If you want to do a quad retrofit you can just use the threaded shaft installation on the high beam section. He offered a group buy on these at $100 per set if we can get at least 5 other people besides me to sign up and prepay for them, all you need to do is post or PM me you email address and I will send to him for sending out the payment requests. I attached a picture of an example he built for another car to give you an idea of what it will look like. So if you guys are interested send me your email and we'll go from there, and if there are more than 5 more maybe we can get more of a discount.

Those would have been awesome a few months ago! Shoot, I'm almost tempted to break the damn things open again to put 4.0s in.

Ok, so that's one, maybe two. Eagleknight, you can always sell your H1 7.0's and get these, the D2S 4.0 is a better projector.

No one else wants in on this?? Let's get 4 more here!

No, these were done before the D2S 4.0 came out, probably MH1's but I was posting them to show what options there are that you can do with our lights. You think you're going to stay with your H1's or go to the D2S 4.0?

That's correct, these will be for the Morimoto D2S 4.0 for a factory headlight or an aftermarket factory replacement, like the TYC brand. I'm pretty sure the Spec-D lights have a different mounting on the inside of the headlight housing so those would be a completely different bracket. You can make your own Audi style DRL with a LED flex tube in the factory housings if you want.

That's 2 and maybe 3 if Eagleknight, decides to switch over to the D2S 4.0 projectors.

Do you think these would work in caprice headlights? They should be pretty similar
They do look similar, but I would have to see the inside of the headlight to be sure the internal frame/bracket is the same. Do you have any pictures of one opened up?

I know nothing about headlights other than I want new ones

I'm not a huge fan of the Spec D or Spyder lights but a nice retrofit like this looks great.

Am I correct in my assumption that I need the bracket, and then just the lights installed into my factory housing, and I would be good to go?

"Yes."

Brackets, projectors, and the HID bulbs and ballasts.

You might be able to find one on ebay for a decent price, even if some tabs are broken off you just need to bake it open and check the inside frame. If it looks like the two pictures I pasted below, it will work.

Let me know if you want to be in on this and send me your email address if you do. These will blow away any aftermarket headlights available as far as depth and clarity/sharp cutoff and you can customize it any way you want or leave it looking like stock. Retrofit companies charge around $800-$1k do do something like this for you.

This is a true statement.

In case anyone wasn't aware, these new Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 projectors are top notch. They're the best aftermarket projectors out there.

Comparison to the previous Morimoto Mini D2S 3.0:

Comparison to the Morimoto Mini H1 7.0:

Comparison to the Morimoto FX-R 3.0:

Make sure you get a good kit like the Morimoto Elite kit. Their bulbs are good as well but to truly maximize the projectors, you'd want some Osram bulbs, which are pricey.

Will the bracket allow the projector to sit far enough back so the stock "shroud" fits? If so, will the stock dust caps still fit? It's already a tight fit with MH1 7.0's
