I don't run a front tag on my GTP, my G8, or the husband's '98 GP Daytona. It's just the luck of the draw.
I haven't gotten pulled over yet, but the other day my husband got pulled driving the G8 and got a warning for a rear plate cover (mildly tinted), a dead inspection (it was the 5th of May and it expired in April) and no front tag. The cop was going in the opposite direction, went out of sight and turned around to go after him. Most of them that go after you with no front tag are bored out of their mind.
Never would say I'm lucky to have not gotten caught yet, it's inevitable, but I'll enjoy it while I can
