Can anyone offer advice on what the best subs might be that will fit the stock locations? I do not want to give up any trunk space that a separate sub enclosure would require. Thanks.

These are the ones you want to get. There are cheaper places to get them but I've heard good feedback from other members with these and fairly straight forward installation also. I plan to pickup a pair soon as well OP. Good luck!

Those kickers are the same that I have in the rear deck, in my case and I know for most others, you'll still to hammer/bend the stock location a bit for the sub to sit properly.

best is get a sub in a box with amp and put in after market 8" speakers in the stock locations way better sound

Unless you don't want to clutter up your trunk with a bigass box. Then this is a great option.

Infinity reference 8" subs fit with some bending/cutting and sound great.
