I just checked their web site. The center bearings they sell definitely look bulletproof. I rebuilt my center bearing last year. I will just have to get one in preparation of when this one falls apart.
Thanks for the info

I may be doing an install video for their website too. That's tbd. Mostly cause I have a car that needs one done. And I can show what a crappy carrier bearing looks like vs a new one.

JXB posted last night on multiple FB pages about the carrier bearing option. Give it a few days for them to hit their website.

For reference, two images of the 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro support bearing.

The JXB setup is reasonably priced. In my extremely humble opinion, General Motors should have never put the craptastic Dorman driveshaft carrier bearing support setup on the G8 in the first place.

Craptastic! My new favorite word.
But you are correct in the fact that the center bearing design is horrible on the G8. The JXB driveshaft support looks to be a much better design for sure.

Indeed. Took a minute to figure out what 1awsg8 stands for. Lol

The thing is they (GM) need to make money on cars and cannot afford to over engineer every part.

Making sure the major components last 100k is the main goal.

All the rest only need to make it 60k or 3yrs on a base warranty.

It has absolutely nothing to do with over engineering every part. Not a darn thing. The concept is called planned obsolescence. Want to talk about over engineering? Try General Motors vehicles that park themselves? What about all the unnecessary technology crammed into vehicles? General Motors continues to find ways to keep exponentially increasing the cost of vehicles such as the $100,000 Suburban. The same effort should be placed into making vehicles both reliable and durable. There are newer General Motors trucks that burn a quart of oil every 1,000 miles and that's considered within normal tolerances. Pure rubbish.

The addition of extra nannies and driver aids(parking assist, lane departure ect) is a nudge from the OEMs to autonomous driving vehicles.

The Gov through the carmakers want control of the highway system and eventual how much people drive.

What they really want is to herd all the sheeple onto mass transit to further eliminate our freedom.

Personally I kinda agree with camopaint0707 there’s definitely something up with all this.

Wasn’t there a car company that was working on a way for the car to drive itself away if you didn’t keep up with payments? Now imagine if that gets in the wrong hands… say they take your car if you vote for the wrong political party?
And I heard recently that someone in china figured out how to hack a Tesla’s computer and cause it to swerve into another lane of traffic. I don’t even want to know what could come from that.
