Well you've got me confused for sure. I can't tell if you *ever* get the CEL icon illuminated. If it is illuminated, a good scan/reader ought to give you a readback of the 1 or more fault codes logged into the ECM. It says that it requires 2 consecutive failures in order to illuminate that CEL icon. If after each time you are checking this, you perform a reset, you would never reach that 2 consecutive failure requirement necessary, to illuminate that CEL. But since that code is telling you that *only* the drivers side is sensing a lean condition (but at this point you are unable to see or hear anything wrong), maybe its just due to a tired upstream HO2 sensor. As in, maybe its functioning well enough to satisfy the ECM (for now), an *not* turn on the CEL light. But sluggish enough for that scanner you do use, to display what you believe is a problem. Interestingly, in the service manual they say that the long an short term fuel scheduling could bounce around in the range of + & - 10 without being a problem (unless the manual was written in error). If you can supply some additional information, the real smart guys that know this system, may be able lead you to the correct solution.
