The application spectrum of modern AWD vehicles covers all kinds of paved roads as well as the hills and dales of rough terrain. And all along, the demands for sporty dynamics, riding comfort and optimum safety are upheld. This entails a wide range of requirements to be met by the drive train, which are safely fulfilled by the axle and all-wheel drives of ZF.
ZF offers individual axle-drive systems tailor-made for different customer applications. Apart from Porsche (Cayenne), VW (Touareg and Phaeton) and Audi (A6 quattro), Mercedes Benz (M-Class) is also a customer of ZF. The latest project comprises the supply of complete front and rear axles including axle drive unit and CV-shafts for the M-Class successor and the GST from Daimler-Chrysler.



In mid-2001, ZF Achsgetriebe GmbH in Thyrnau started developing axle drive units and began producing bevel-gear sets and differentials. Assembly of the axle drive units is performed in Gotha and Gainesville / USA.

i just got my Diff in today doing 3.70

 

The diff is has always come out of Gainsville.

The entire rear axle and front corners come from ZF also. (Disc to disc rear)
Components come from many suppliers then it is assembled by ZF then sent into Holden. Using a few ZF parts in the process.
