So I have had my mind pretty much set on the 3.45 diff swap and was about to pull the trigger but I was too late to respond to the buyer. But now its got me thinking if I should do the 3.27 swap. Who has either of these done and what are your thoughts?

I loved my 3.27 gears. They were great on the expressway yet still were lively on takeoff... It makes it easier to takeoff and not constantly loosing traction... either would do a great job....

depends on your mods. If you are going to keep it N/A, with maybe motor work, I would do do 3.45, if you are planning on a supercharger, i would keep the 2.92s or the get the 3.27s.

So I guess before you ask for experience ask what your plans are, and see if it fits. I know some of the 3.45 guys complained having a useless first with the superchargers.

Eventually I would like to go with a supercharger but that probably wont be for a year or so. I may do a cam this summer. Once I do a supercharger though this probably wont be a daily driver though.

I don't understand why rear end ratios matter that much now that we have 6-speed transmissions. First gear tends to overpower the tires already (unless you are thinking about drag slicks or something).

Because until a certain power level, changing gears make your car faster. The auto camaro uses 3.27 with the same gear ratios as us, so that would make the most sense.

But it all depends what his plans are and if this is going to be a weekend warrior car, drag car, or DD.

3.45's all the way. No issues in winter at all. You just don't take off balls to the wall, nor would you with 2.92s or 3.27s, or 3.70s for that matter ;).

Let me knwo if you have any specific questions.

Good to know. I'm set on the 3.45's for sure now. I just need to find a nice camaro take off. How bad did the 3.45's hurt your gas mileage?
