Best "rubber" strut mounts?

I currently have poly strut mounts and am not thrilled with the extra nvh it adds. It's not a huge amount, but noticeable. My question is, are there any rubber mounts that come close to poly for longevity?

One thing I learned the other weekend , when I did a mount and spring change. I found the AK and BK mounts are 2 different heights. The AK polyelast are the stock height.
The firmer Poly BK mounts are about 3/8" shorter. So if you want to close the front fender to tire gap a bit. the BK mounts are your ticket. If you want to restore ride height and performance from collapsed mounts. the AK are what you want. The AK also perform close to OEM rubber mount ride quality. Rubber mounts will always collapse because of the material. The 2 year old BK mounts I removed showed almost no wear. Just signs of the upper and lower washers surfaces. Clean and re-lube the bearing and they are ready to go back into service. Both the AK and BK mounts are great products.

Bickering aside :wink3: these threads are why I love forums like this. I'm collecting the parts now to replace my struts and sway bar links this spring when I swap on the summer tires, so this particular topic is super relevant for me. I don't know how old the current suspension is on the car (I've had the car for a year and a half) but the strut mounts in there are REALLY collapsed. Since I've been bargain shopping for PPV struts, I can splurge a bit on the mounts. The SPF1590AKs look like that splurge. Good discussion.

My SPF1590AK's are doing really well since I installed them in November. Same ride quality as OEM. No signs of any collapse yet. They came with the orange colored bearings which I have seen some information that these may be newer updated bearings. I am happy with mine, would recommend.

Installed or Not. The BK are shorter and lower the front end about 3/8" on their own. I took out my Tein springs, and BK mounts, just because the front end always scraped on everything. If I had know about the height difference between the two AK and the BK I would have just change mounts to pick the front end up a bit and see it it was enough to stock the scraping. Now that I have my stock springs back in with the AK mounts. I might go back to the BK to drop the front.
PM an email addy and I can send a photo from my phone.

No need to take a pic, I was just curious. I have the AK bushings with KW coilovers and the car sits a tad too low for my liking.. even with the perch maxed out. I'm debating putting BKs on the Pedders coilovers that are on the way since they are more height adjustable.

OMEGA, if the car is too low, do not install the BK's . It will make it even lower, which sounds like exactly what you don't want. Stick with the AK's

They work with everything. You can't install a front strut without them, regardless of brand. PS the stock set up is Coil over, not just the aftermarket ones.

After reading all of these threads. I ordered the AK's to go with my Eibach spring install. Thanks for all the info.

I'm starting to get a bit of rubber squeak pulling in to driveways. Hoping it's the strut mounts, but will certainly be checking the LCAs.

It was finally nice enough around here last Saturday (Sunday went back to the suck) to complete my suspension rebuild. I went with PPV struts, new sway bar links all around, H&R Sport springs, and the SuperPro AKs. First impressions are that all of the suspension noise I had before, which led me to bring the car to the dealership to inquire about the LCA warranty extension, are gone. The sway bar links were loose, the struts were in various states of failure, and when I disassembled the passenger side strut I found the balls from the strut bearing laying in there. The ride is stiff, but not harsh. Since my point of reference for this type of car is my clapped out old suspension, I can't compare it to a good FE2 or FE3 suspension. All I can say is that I am happy with the end result.

Perchance it was Pedders.
