First off, sorry for the horrible pictures. I am currently overseas and won't return for another 8 months, so I can't get any good pictures and my wife simply can't work a SLR camera (even with Auto mode, idk)

So a friend from my hometown was selling an unpainted GXP bumper with all the extra trim and grilles required. Lucky for me, he is also a professional painter. I'll just say I got an excellent deal, that is all.

He held onto it, painted it, and installed it all for me after my wife dropped it off. During the GXP bumper install, I had him black out all of the chrome and all of the plastic trim with gloss black auto paint (None of that plastidip junk!). Front kidney grilles and lower bumper grille, fog light bezels, hood vents, chrome around the windows and door, the chrome on the door handle, Pontiac dart chrome, and my GXP diffuser were all blacked out with gloss black auto paint. I meant to ask him to black out my G8 and GT on the trunk lid as well, but I forgot about and those and I'll just take it back to him another day.

My next step is to drop the car on some Tein springs and Koni shocks, and get some 20" Breyton GTS wheels in matte black. I think that will finalize the look I want for this car. Again sorry for crappy pics. I'm still asking my wife to send some high quality HD photos.

Thanks! I didn't do the work, it was the painter who installed it, but from what I hear they aren't difficult.

Looks good....

On the other car, do you have smoked headlights? where'd you get them??
Thanks! That's my friend's (the painter), he did it himself with a mix of clearcoat and gloss black.

Looks good! Are those 18's or 19's?
Thanks! 19x8 BremmerKraft BR-09 black-chrome wheels.

Yeah, the gloss black diffuser really helps the overall look. I'm not a fan of fading black plastic trim. I got some extra shots here that my wife took for me. I totally forgot to ask my painter to black out the G8 and GT letters on the back, so after seeing the pics, my wife took them off, and is going to have them blacked out soon and applied. I did a photoshop of them that I really like. But anyways, here's a few more pics.

Some red or tinted red Spyder LED tail lights would tie those small red accents together with the rear VERY nicely. Tinted red would help tie both the red and the black together for a cohesive look.

I've been really contemplating some of the Spyder taillights. It would either be red or smoked for sure. But I'm just not really sure exactly what I want, or whether or not I really like the Spyders enough to pull the trigger. I'm not a fan of dark tinted sprayed lights, so it'll either be the black, red, or red/smoke untouched.

Care to share any pics that may convince me? MGM only.

They're a VERY nice compliment to the G8 rear IMO. I did a quick tour of my G8 library on my hard drive. LOL I have one MGM with smoked red lenses but can't find the normal red lenses (on an MGM) at the moment.

Here's a link to a thread...I coincidentally posted in.

GXP Blacked out as well

You can see from my signature that I did much the same with my GXP M6. I just installed Spyder Black LED Tail Lights today. Took some pix in the shop but you can't see anything from these. I'll post some out door pix tomorrow.

Had to revive this thread....Looking good!!! Glad to see some others painting the raw plastics gloss black. I just think it gives it a finish look.

I ended up installing the black Spyder tails and painted the top part with a translucent red. This gives it a dark look while being legal, as they aren't tinted or smoked.

I ended up doing the lower and upper honeycomb grills and foglight surrounds. I didn't do my mirrors though and I still need to do my rear diffuser.

I think the black portion of the side view mirrors painted gloss black would flow nicely. Looks like I'm adding that to my spring time list as well.
