not from jhp. located a radio and almost all of the trim. a crazy guy down there is going to help me out with the rest of it if i dont have all of the trim. he actually pointed me to greg at pace for the wiring harnesses. the GPS antenna harness break out is an oem part. the bluetooth mic is the last thing on my list. i figured out the backup camera right now. china has a license plate light replacement housing backup camera for our series 1 cars. no idea how well it will fit. plan is almost together

Oh yea Onstar uses your factory mic right? Wonder if you could just splice into it and have the two share it. Won't be on both at the same time.

Not sure if Pace has the USB cords. If you are planning on adding a USB socket for Ipod or Thumb drive music I wrote up a make your own tutorial:
How To - Make your own USB cable

The AU radio does have Ipod / USB integration right off the bat right? Or dose Chris White have to do any programming?

onstar does yes. i guess the iq radio has a mic on the face? but the caprice guys are saying there is a remote mic as well. from the other threads i have seen the greg has his oem mic wired up and functional. my understanding is if you actually do have onstar active that in case of an emergency event onstar would be able to hear you but you would not hear them after upgrading to an iq system. that and no xm are the draw backs.

in my case my D8D gauge pod has a couple cracks in it from the sun that are driving me nuts. i found a hsv e3 nav iq unit to replace it with. so i will be removing that pod fixing and selling it and the removing my bluetooth onstar VCIM and just replacing it with the IQ system with gauge pod.

edit* oh hey caprice guy, thanks for the link im trying to avoid making my own harness hopefully the price is right from greg. the ipod stuff is all turned on already. still has to go to chris for the VIN match VIM and US maps

Ok Interesting. I am not aware of any mic on the face of the IQ that comes with the caprice but Maybe there is one on the AU version. I had to add the mic to dome light assembly that is the same one onstar uses. But since the Caprice did not come with Onstar I had no interference from that whole system. luckily my caprice was already wired for a Mic from the dome light assembly to the radio plug, just did not have the actual mic.

i have one weird issue that hasn't gone away everything is fine while the car is on and running but after i shut the car off and just sit there after about 30 seconds the radio shuts off and the screen just says "VIN not matched" if i put the key back in and turn it to run it is fine. can't find any reports of this happening to anyone else.

I've heard of one other person with the same issue. Don't think he figured out what the problem was.

so 3 of us in one thread with the same issue, can't say i'm upset since the radio is a major improvement but slightly irritated by it is a good description if i had to guess my bet is all 3 of us are 09.1 and older?

Sorry to kinda butt into the convo, but has anyone come across any of these radios, with the UV9 code (built in Nav) that are up for sale. I've been looking for a year now and haven't come across anything solid on the Australian eBay site.... Any help would be much appreciated

I guess my concern with that one, is that it doesn't say anywhere that it has the "UV9" code on the unit, which signifies that it has the Nav capabilities. from what I have read, a lot of them have a "NAV" button on the actual faceplate, but it doesn't not function unless it is a unique unit with that UV9 code on the back of it....

The pic of he side says it all. The blue connector is for the Nav antenna :)
