This maybe my easiest mod so far, and since I’m mechanically challenged I thought I’d post pics of the offending wire and panels that U can remove to silence them if U wish to do so like I did, and other force members before me.
For premium sound system, this only takes a few minutes with no expense, other than a few minutes worth of time and no other consequences have I encountered in the 3-4 months or there about I’ve had them disconnected.
Pic1 shows the left driver’s side panel in back of radio\front consol. They simply snap down and off, bottom panel comes off first, then the upper.
Pic2 shows the offending wire U simply disconnect and presto! No more Atari!
To re-install reverse procedure top panel snaps in first…
You may now put XM, I pod GPS or whatever, in front of them and have a more OE look to them with the bracket I mentioned in my recent GPS mount post, or just drive darker without them. All of the info on them maybe redundant If not useless via dash light, and\or engineering mode.
Have a quieter, darker, happier motoring with the force!
P.S.
My thanks again to bigdaddyg8 who inspired me on his post to send them (the Atari) to the darkest side…
Cheers!
