Removed front Pontiac Arrowhead?

Has anyone removed the arrowhead on the nose? I know it has two vertical bolts. How easy (or difficult) is it to remove badge? Any tips or tools need for removal? I'm thinking of taking it off and getting it powdercoated black, gloss it up, polish it and throw it back on. If that doesn't look good, then I might just get rid of it, fill the holes and paint it. Thanks for the feedback!

Mmmm, somewhere there was a post that said the front had two studs and nuts that held it on. Look behind the emblem if you can.

I know someone on this board has removed the front badge. Help me out fellas. Pics would be good! Throw me a little love here. NVR2FST.... did you just paint it flat black...... gloss? Powdercoat? PICS dude! I'll check out the studs vs. bolts deal when I decide to take it off, which should be a few days from now.

I took mine off. There are three locating holes actually. It's really no harder than taking off any other badge. Just heat it up and use some fishing line to peel it off.
Okay..... do you have any pics? Did you remove it permanently? Are the holes visible (look like ****?) PICS pics PICS...... There are three locating holes and no pins or bolts? I'm hearing different things for different people.

I took it off in anticipation of my all black concept badge from third shift. There are NO bolts or pins just holes that the pegs from the badge slide into...

I originally wanted to just fill the holes in and paint, but the bodyshop I talked to was weary since the bumper is plastic and didn't think it would hold long....

It's a very easy thing to do, just try it and put the badge back if you don't like the look

Cool, thanks. So what about the "concept" badge from third shift? Did you get it....... again, any pics? More info on that black out badge please. How much and when are the making/shipping it? BTW, I'm not going to take the badge off unless I fill the holes in or switch out the badge. I think I'll just go with the powdercoat option or the "blacked out" film that I've ordered. We'll see.

I too will be messing around with the nose emblem later today...i figure i have 2 options seeing this thread...
#1 try and paint the emblem to match my white g8 and have a ghost look
#2 remove it completely and replace it with another badge seeing as you cant fill the centering holes
going to the art store right after work to see if i cant maybe find some white putty i could just fill the holes with...
how do you all think option 1 would look with the rear badged with the holden circle?

Not long after buying my '04 GTO, a car kicked-up a big piece of something that dug a good hole on the front bumper cover. During the repair, I had the shop remove the front badge and smooth the crease outline around the badge.

I get compliments from other GTO owners regularly.

Call me crazy...but you buy a Pontiac and remove its' most identifying feature?! It's a symbol of pride to get right up in somebody's rearview mirror and let 'em know you're driving a PONTIAC!! Might as well buy a Ford so you can proudly display the Blue Oval...

I didn't buy this car because it was a pontiac. In fact I think Pontiac did more harm to this car then they did good. It looked, performed, and had better features as a Holden. As far as I'm concerned it's more Holden than Pontiac anyways.
