12 month update on Amazon-sourced "AC Delco" 13598771 TPMS sensors.

I bought two sets of TPMS sensors to go with the replacement of first my summer tires (July 18) and then my winter tires (Nov 18) from Amazon. I did not notice at the November order that the vendor changed, even though I simply went in my Amazon order history and hit "order again". The Nov set had a sensor that initially paired to the car, but died within a few days. The 3rd party vendor replaced the part but refused to reimburse for the $25 tire mount & balance. Well, lo and behold, 1 year later I have a sensor that won't pair with the car (it did work for the winter season). I don't know if these are counterfeit, or old (although I believe it is a newer part number, and the sensor is only about half the size of the original.) It would be nice if these things would broadcast their battery level, but they don't (at least that's what my research uncovered).

General speaking, it is "safer" to purchase parts directly from or fulfilled by Amazon. Unfortunately, there are quite a few counterfeit items listed on Amazon and would venture to say they are either old or fake.

They show there are a couple companys that will sell you a TPMS programing tool that will readback the battery condition of the sensors. But based on their prices, for me they fall into that category of "Do I really need this tool, no matter what the cost is". I know tire shops like Americas Tire / Discount Tire, have an use that level of tool. If either of those tire shops are near you, an their employees are customer friendly, maybe they would test any of your existing or newly purchased sensors as a courtesy.

Back in the day when I bought my car and got snow tires/wheels, the TPMS sensors were insanely priced and there was a guy on here selling cheap oem TPMS sensors. Cant find that guy, and cant even find a emi calculator gst login ifsc code legit source for real OEM sensors. Now that I'm searching I've seen that Dorman, ACDelco, or Shrader make the sensors, and that the new part number might or might not be 25920615.

Last time I looked for "that guy" I heard he was caught selling his job's inventory illegally and is no longer a source for sensors. That was a few years ago.

GMPartsGiant shows the new part number for the sensor is 13598771.

^^^^^ That's the P/N I bought about 2 years ago, an is still shown as the latest correct P/N for the sensor. They show (at least on Amazon) that you can buy a 4 pack of new 13598771 sensors for about $45 thru a local 3rd party of Amazon. They are the Autel brand name made in the USA (which looks to be the exact same sold by GM) They even show that same brand name for a cheaper price, but a close up view shows that they come from China. Might be equal in quality, or not. If you still prefer the original shape sensors that came in the cars, they of course can be had also.
