A GXP A6 diff is 3.27 not 3.23. I have one in my car.

Yeah, I was looking at the # weird as I typed it and kept saying to myself, "which one has the 3.27, the G8 or the Camaro?"

I'll correct the other post too.

The transmission doesn't need any tuning for the new gears, correct?

Yes tranny will need tune

^^^ do you know if VMS/livernois can tune for the gearing change or will it have to be a dyno tune?

It's done in the software tuning files (either Livernois / VMS / Local Dyno Guy should all be able to handle that) and their experiences will get it maybe 80-85% there but getting it right will come from driver feedback based on how she shifts at the track and/or on the street - neither of which can be duplicated on the dyno.

It might be easier "logistically" to work with your local tuner on fine-tweaking back and forth (especially since you can toss him in the seat and say "here, see what it's doing on the 3-4 shift") but I'm sure VMS and Livernois can get you real close too.

I am sure livernois can do it. Give them a call

Edit:
I re-read your statement, and I guess you are saying it might be best to start with a local tuner and they can work with you on final tweaks after the initial dyno portion is complete.

I think both VMS & Livernois tunes are locked. I don't think they could provide a nearly-there tune and have someone else do the final tweaking.

Right. "It might be best" but not mandatory to use a local tuner.
Our car is tricky. I've seen a lot of guys have to go back to their tuner a dozen times to get the shifts right with the new gears. Or, they have their own software and are tweaking it constantly.

Gear

Sweet, you'll love it. Your setup is getting close to mine! Should roll the F@&K out!
Its pretty nasty now. I can't wait!!! Will post pics when installed!!!!! Thanks

Congrats. Camaro diff is next on my list. Im interested to know how much it helps your car. My tuner seems to think it will not really make the car any faster just spin the tires more.

Nice! I want to do this too, but maybe 3.27's instead!

It will go faster if you have traction. I went 12.0 on stock tires with these gears... however went a lot faster with drag radials!

^ what he said..

Yeah I really need some drag radials. I just got a 3.27 Camaro diff for a really good price. Cant wait to get it installed as well.

Wow, over a grand for new gears. I almost miss my Mustang days! $350-400 for new gears...

Its the complete center section, not just gears.
