Also the engine didn't hold idle for more than 1 sec with my tuned calibration (Tuned for the L76 MAF), I tried 3 times, engine would crank and start, then die right away.

So I loaded my base tune for the 102 mm LS7 MAF, and she started right away. I haven't tuned it yet, but it runs with the factory 2011 Camaro MAF table, and 2011 Camaro IAT Resistance table. The IAT response is a lot faster as well. idle is a little bit rough, nothing major, i'll do some RAF adjustment and see if I can smooth that out, or course, i'll wait to have the Spectre straight pipe in place before changing anything, as I don't want the Roto VS in there.

For now, she's running without the screen, with the stock Roto VS.

I'll go out now to take some logs, the MAF readings seem very smooth at a quick glance.

Lean everywhere, but that is easily corrected, so easy that i've already taken measures to correct it :), in any case, this is not my final setup since i'm still using the Roto VS, but the initial impressions are very good, MAF readings are very smooth without the screen.

WOT Fueling 0.95-.097 Lambda, holy $hit :), pretty much 13.9_14.1AFR at WOT, although this was a 1st gear test, so the readings are a tad higher.

and .88 Lambda, or 12.9afr, still need more work at WOT, but i won't bother with it until i get the straight section i need mated with the Blox VS. she's semi tuned for what i need out of her until i get the new parts next week.

Ordered new intake couplers in black to replace the blue ones i bought for a cleaner look.
Black ones are Spectre 9771.

A lot of good info in this thread. Subscribing in case I decide to do the swap later.

I got the screen, but haven't have the time to play with it. I just finished the tune for the Stock Roto VS with the 102mm maf housing and LS7 MAF, lol i was bored, and figured why not have another tune for this :) I'm still waiting for the straight pipe portion and the couplers, so i can finally have 4" all the way to the MAF, and the final tune i'll run before the cam, The Roto version seems to be 3.75" ID to 3.5" to the MAF stock, and 3.75" to 4" when you get the 102mm MAF housing, You can really tell the difference when the inlet is in front of the 4" MAF housing, can't wait to remove the stock VS and run the 4" one.

Also the IAT in this MAF is highly responsive with respect to the one that comes with the L76, no reason to run a relocated IAT, the IAT gets heatsoaked, just not as bad as the the one in the L76 MAF, and this with the aluminum housing, but the big difference is in the the time it takes for the IAT readings to go down as the car is moving, this happens very fast compared to the time in takes with the stock L76 MAF, funny i don't get KR like when i attempted to speed up the times with the factory IAT an HSRK..

Are the Spectre 9771 couplers 4" in length as well as 4" /102mm ID?

Yes, just remove the rubber reducer that comes with it in one side. They're either 4" to 3.75" or 4" to 4"

Fixem2, I'm sorry I didn't read your entire post, the Spectre 9771 length is 2", 4" ID
If you need something in 4" long, check intakehosesdotcom, I think this is where Rotofab sources their couplers/humps, or at least they look very similar. I went with the Spectre cause I wanted the 2" long couplers fit and finish.

Thanks, I need to put mine together to see if I can get away with the 2" coupler.

I've got all the parts except the 2" long intake coupler, damn it, so i just went to Pepboys yesterday and got the 4" version, which of course was too long, and since i'm still waiting for Autozone to deliver the Spectre 9722, i ended up cutting the 4" long pipe in half, to test it, and voila, perfect fit with the 2" long intake pipe. My saw skills are not that good considering i did the cut around 11:00pm yesterday night, but once the new one arrives, i'll fix that up, nobody sees that portion if intake tract anyways but me, but i know the new one would be a perfect 2" long everywhere instead of the mickey mouse i have now.

Did some more retuning today, she'll run lean again with the Blox VS after tuning her with the Roto VS, and i consider this mod done and tuned. Ended up modifying the Min RAF from stock as well, to remove the surging of the car when cold and coming to a stop, she would also do this when fully warmed up, although not as bad as when she was cold. Now she is smooth as butter cold/hot, it doesn't matter.

I don't know if this mod would add HP or not, but she sure feels lighter at any point in the powerband, and the intake growl has increased as well, next one would be the Crawford intake, can wait for that one :)

Maybe I missed it somewhere but what are y'all doing about the vacuum or breather hose (whatever it is) coming from the passenger side of the engine to the stock MAF housing with the new housing not having a fitting for that?
Also, are y'all keeping the plastic sleeve inside the housing or just using the metal part of the housing only? The sleeve reduces it to factory size or without the sleeve there's a pocket where the MAF sensor fits into the housing which looks like its just going to cause turbulent air.
After spending yesterday at the shop we said f the sensor. Guys there are making good power without it (up to 700rwhp with a cam and procharger) didn't see a point in the swap. I may change my mind if I can figure this out or I've got the parts if anybody wants them.

On my '09.1 the breather tube is on the RotoFab elbow, not the maf housing. Stock intake is in the same location, once again not on the maf housing.

The hose is not in the maf housing. Its in the elbow closer to the tb. Check my last pic, you can see the location. You can run the reducers if you want to keep the 90mm size, but if you want to run this maf , the iat table has to be changed, and the maf has to be rescaled as well either way.

The maf alone is cheaper than any commercial hsrk unless you build them yourself , and it performs better because it measures iat right where they should be measured, when you compare them to the useless locations some people choose to relocate the sensor. The ls7 iat sensor reacts very fast to temp changes as well, so there is no need for iat relocation.

I haven't tested for track gains yet as its too hot around here, but judging at dyn airflow and engine load, I'll say there is a positive gain in the mod, the iat reaction times alone would be more than welcome.

Vararam supplies the coupler with the fitting tube, i'm sure the MAF housing will fit, I just don't know if you will be able to use the 2" straight pipe though, or if if the coupler they provide is already 4", it looks like that in the pic, I'll let one of the Vararam guys tell you what to do, there are some of them running the LS7 MAF with the 4" housing.

Here is a pic straight from Vararam so you can get the idea.
