Go on ebay, thats where I bought mine at. I found one with 13 miles on it. You can also call paceperformance and talk to greg if you want a brand new one. They are about 1100.00 shipped. I paid 900 for mine shipped to my business. Took about 3 hours to install and then you need an alignment. I like mine so far.

I didnt think you need an alignment..... should be no reason for an alignment....

So wait, someone fill me on so i can direct fire, because i am in the process of slapping gears on. correct me if wrong

the camaro's ger will work on the g8's. and i can order this where?
Here are all your options although I might be forgetting some:

1. Swap your whole differential center section for a new or used G8 GXP Auto diff with a 3.27 ratio inside or G8 GXP Manual diff with a 3.70 ratio inside. Depending on new or used or Fleebay or Pace, you will pay between $700 (used 3.27 and very hard to find) and $1600 (new 3.70).

2. Aussie SS Commodore Manual has a 3.45 ratio diff and can be had but for a lot of dough. $$$.

3. Swap your whole differential center section for a new or used Camaro SS diff with a 3.45 ratio inside. Pace $1100 and change.

Several well-respected car guys on the forums have indicated that the Camaro center section and gears inside appear to be a little beefier than the G8's although Camaros are having axles and rear issues too, depending on the amount of abuse.

The 3.45 Commodore SS ring & pinions and the 3.70 G8 GXP ring & pinion gears inside the diffs are shot peened for added strength over the standard G8 GT 2.92s and the GXP Auto 3.27s.

4. GeForce now offers Motive ring & pinion sets for the G8 diff in 3.90 and 4.10 ratios. Pricing and info is on their site.

5. Once you have the Camaro 3.45 diff, you will always have the option of larger R&P gears from the aftermarket also...

Best bang for the buck will be the 3.45 Camaro diff from Pace.

If you just have to have "more gear" then a 3.70 GXP diff or the 3.90/4.10 ring & pinions are what you want.

Yes... Call Greg at pace performance.. Mine will be here tomorrow. Install in a week

#22 ·
Yeah, I was looking at the # weird as I typed it and kept saying to myself, "which one has the 3.27, the G8 or the Camaro?"

I'll correct the other post too.

The transmission doesn't need any tuning for the new gears, correct?

#24 ·
Yes tranny will need tune

#25 ·
^^^ do you know if VMS/livernois can tune for the gearing change or will it have to be a dyno tune?

^^^ do you know if VMS/livernois can tune for the gearing change or will it have to be a dyno tune?
It's done in the software tuning files (either Livernois / VMS / Local Dyno Guy should all be able to handle that) and their experiences will get it maybe 80-85% there but getting it right will come from driver feedback based on how she shifts at the track and/or on the street - neither of which can be duplicated on the dyno.

It might be easier "logistically" to work with your local tuner on fine-tweaking back and forth (especially since you can toss him in the seat and say "here, see what it's doing on the 3-4 shift") but I'm sure VMS and Livernois can get you real close too.

I am sure livernois can do it. Give them a call

Congrats. Camaro diff is next on my list. Im interested to know how much it helps your car. My tuner seems to think it will not really make the car any faster just spin the tires more.
